This is a highly stressed and traumatising society. And you can’t separate that from social-economic factors.
[Trauma] The legal system doesn’t get it, the medical system doesn’t get it, the education system doesn’t get it, the politicians don’t get it. It’s a huge problem.
The economy needs people that are going to do meaningless jobs with circumstances that are intolerable but they’ll put up with it. There’s a confluence between the needs of the economy and the way we parent kids.
The more disconnected kids are, the more they can fit into the economy that doesn’t care about human feelings, but only cares about profitability and production. It’s just a cycle that keeps going.
